Investigation results of high-quality quartz (IOIO) and silicon (III) crystals with the reflection curve a halfwidth ~10-4 are reported. By using these crystals the spectra of multi-charged ions are obtained. Laser plasma is produced by irradiating Al,Si,P and S targets by the radiation with flux density up to 1O14 W/cm2 . Various aspects of using high-quality crystals in laser plasma diagnostics are discussed: obtaining of high spectral resolution ≤10-4 and two-dimentional space resolution ro50 . Laser plasma photography in X-ray radiation with two-coordinate space resolution is experimentally obtained.

The X-ray Spectroscopic methods for determination electron density in high electron temperature plasma with Теc ≥ 0.2keV in the Ne > 1020 cm-3 band are considered in the paper. The considered methods are based on the following measurements: 1) of relative intensities of resonance and intercombination lines in He-like ion spectral 2) relative intensities of satellite lines in H-like ion spectra; 3) relative intensities of H-like resonance doublet components; 4) Stark broadening of H-like ion lines. All these methods were used in experiments with plasma heating by focusing the laser beam on plane massive targets, containing elements with nuclear charge Z=12-19. The density distribution in plasma was measured within the limits of Ne=1018-l021cm-3. The results obtained by all the methods were compared and the application limits of the methods were determined. The method of plasma photographing in different X-ray lines of high stripped ions Is proposed in the paper.

Observational data and theoretical arguments suggest that the heating source for an active region is the quasi-steady dissipation of magnetic field in current sheets. Effects in the solar atmosphere which are due to current sheets presence are considered. The most important of them is the heating of chromosphere by the strong ultraviolet radiation of current sheet. This can give rise to the brightening of an active region in optical emission. The energy flux from the current sheet in different ranges of ultraviolet spectrum and the depths (column densities) into the chromosphere where this energy is absorbed are estimated.

Some dependencies between characteristic parameters of dissociation are predicted; the form of experi№ mental check of these dependencies is discussed. In the appendix 1 the quasi-stationary state method is developed; in the appendix 2 the influence of the lamer radiation spectrum width on the process of excitation is investigated.

We construct Integrals of the motion and coherent states for a relativistic charged particle in an external field which is a superposition of a field of en arbitrary plane wave and en additional field of the special type (this field is a generalization of the well known Redmond configuration). In the case of a periodic external field the coherent states Obtained are generating functions for the quasi-energy states. The explicit formulae for the quasi-energy states and spectra are given. Besides, we obtain the explicit formulae for the Green function and show that its diagonal elements determining the vacuum polarization do not depend on the presence of a plane wave. These results (although the most of then have been well bum) demonstrate once more the simplicity and effectiveness of the coherent states and integrals of the notion method for solving various problems of quantum electromagnetics.

Parameters of multiplicity distributions are compared with the relevant ones at lower energies and with data from pA-interactions at 200 Gev/c. The multiplicity of heavily ionzing particles in A-interactions weakly depend on the incident energy. The KNO scaling is observed being the same for incident protons end pi one.

Density dependent lines of one- and two-electron ions in diagnostics of laboratory plasma. 1. The rates of collision relaxation of excited levels. V.F. Shevelko, I.Tu. Skobelev, and A.V. Vinogradov (Lebedev Physical Institute, Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Leninsky prospect .53i Moscow, USSR) Plasma devices with inertial plasma confinement such as laser produced plasma, exploding wires, plasma focus etc., which have been rapidly developed last years, appeared to be very intensive sources of spectral line radiation in far UV and X-ray regions. The analysis of this radiation gives a good tool for plasma diagnostics with very high electron densities up to 1022 cm-3. In this work which contains two parts we consider mechanism of formation of spectral lines in hot and dense plasma. The key point for density diagnostics is the fact that for some ion levels the rate of collisional relaxation has the same order of magnitude as the radiative decay. So the intensities of spectral lines arising from these levels show the strong dependence on electron density which gives possibility of diagnostics. In the first paper the emphasis is made on the calculation of rates of transition between close ion levels induced by electron or ion impact which usually gives the main contribution into the collisional relaxation constants. The influence of plasma polarization effects on the collision frequency in a dense plasma is also considered.

To investigate local properties of the fields that are not strictly localizable we associate a topology (O) on the teat function apace to each space-time region O. Conditions are found which the family of topologies (O) must satisfy in order that the concept of causality can be introduced into the theory. It is considered how the main properties of the Wight-man functionals change when we pass to test function spaces which have less pronounced local properties. It is shown, In particular, that the fields with exponential momentum-space growth like exp(l║p║) are localizable only in apace-time regions large in comparison with l. This happens because not any domain in the apace of several complex variables is a domain of holomorphy. A simple method for deriving Ruelle’s cluster property is proposed, which is applicable to nonlocalizable fields as wall as to localizable ones. Making use of this property, we prove polynomial energy boundedness of the elastic scattering amplitude in nonlocalizable theories

The interaction energy of charge-density waves (CDW) in quasi-one-dimensional and layered crystals which depends on the difference of phases of CDW in individual chains or layers is obtained by the tunnel Hamiltonlan method. Tunnelling of electrons between the chains (layers) and Coulomb interaction of CDW are shown to contribute into this interaction, the former mechanism dominating in all the cаsеs. Experimental data for quasi-one-dimensional crystals are discussed on the basis of the results obtained. For layered crystals the three-dimensional ordering of CDW is determined by minimizing the free energy of the interaction between layers taking Into account commensurability effects. Such an approach makes It possible to account for experimentally discovered ordering of CDW In layered crystals. The influence of disorder is also discussed

The total and topological cross-sections in reactions at coherent diffractive dissociation of 200 Gev/c mesons off photoemulsion nuclei have been measured and cross-sections for the channelswere estimated. The energy dependence of cross-sections for various channels of inelastic coherent diffraction off nuclei and Invariant mass distribution of produced 3 system have been investigated. The topological cross-sections increase in the range from 40 to 200 Gev/c. This growth is the most noticeable for multiprong topologies. The cross-section of the exclusive channel + does not depend on incident particle momentum in the range 40 — 200 Gev/c. The topological cross-sections of coherent reactions increase with the energy due to the openning channels with larger numbers of neutral particles. Mass spectrum of 3 system in the coherent reaction weakly depends on the energy.

A kinetic equation is derived far fast electrons in toroidal magnetic devices of the tokamak or stellarator type. It is of different types for different groups of electrons — transit of trapped in a magnetic field. The solution of the kinetic equation is found and analytical expressions for the electron distribution function are obtained for the case of an ideal (nonrippled) torus and electric field less than the critical Dreicer field. Runaway flux of electrons is found. The case of a rippled torus is investigated with the account taken of vertical drift that leads to the outflow to the chamber walls of electrons, blocked in ripples. A considerable outflow of plasma is shown to be possible only for electrons of energy exceeding some quantity d that depends on the magnetic field, depth of the ripple, plasma density and on the dimension parameters of the device

The progress in various fields of natural sciences is closely connected with the development and utilization of new Sourceэ of electromagnetic radiation. Wide prospects are offered if the ondulatory radiation sources are used in practice. Both the ondulator and synchrotron radiations are capable to overlap the wide spectral range from submillimeter waves to a hard radiation. The ondulatory radiation differs from the synchrotron radiation by higher intensity, directivity, monochromaticity and polarization degree. There is a possibility of operational changes in polarization modes of ondulatory radiation. Basic consequences of the ondulatory radiation theory are considered here. The requirements to the parameters of ondulators and the characteristics of charged particle beams are discussed

№ 153 THE DUSHINSKY EFFECT AND SUM RULES FOR VIBRONIC TRANSITIONS IN POLYATOMIC MOLECULES

The method is elaborated for analysing, in terms of the sum rules, the intensity distribution of the vibronic bands in electronic spectra of polyatomic molecules, with taking into account the rotation of the excited state normal coordinates relative to the ground state ones (the Dushinsky effect). In the harmonic oscillator approximation, the quantitative criterion of availability of the Dushinsky effect is obtained. The existence of this effect leads to non-trivial formulae for probabilities of the Joint excitation of different vibrational modes. Expressions are obtained for the mean number of quanta excited in a given mode and for its standard deviation, as well as for the correlation coefficients. The proposed method does not demand to perform the complete vibrational analysis of the spectrum of interest, thereby allowing to make calculations in the presence of incomplete information concerning the vibronlc structure of the spectrum. As an example, the calculation of the correlation coefficient for the 3700 A bind system of the absorption spectrum of SO2 is given

The methods are discussed to obtain polarized electron beams by a ans of the direct and resonant ionization of umpolarized atom by a circularly polarized light. The paper includes the review of the theoretical and experimental works on these topics and the discussian of the physical nature of the phenomena and the physical restrictions upon the parameters of a laser field and ionized atoms. In the first section («Photoionization») the direct one-photon ionization and the Fano effect are considered. The theoretical approaches, to the description of the latter phenomenon and its experimental investigation are elucidated in and 3,4 respectively. The second section is devoted to the description of the resonant multi-photon (two-photon, mainly) ionization and of obtaining the spin polarized free electrons in this process. The transjtions in the fins structure of atomic levels scheme (PSS) and in the hiper-fine structure scheme (UPSS) are considered in 5 and 6. The main qualitative conclusion of this investigation is that in general in the PSS the higher electron polarization parameter may be obtained than in the HFSS. On the other hand the latter scheme may be used for obtaining the ions with the polarized nuclei, the degree of the nuclear spin polarization being about 80% (6). In 7 he mechanizmus of atomic spectra perturbation by an external laser field are discussed. The restrictions upon the electric field strength are found which follow from the condition that the atomic level splitting, shift and broadening should not prevail the fine structure energy.
